    Pussytoes? Women's tobacco? There's gotta be a story/legend here.

      The common name "Pussytoes" comes from the resemblance of the flower heads to cats' paws. Other evocative common names include Dogs' Toes, Ladies' Chewing Tobacco, Loves' Test, Mouse Ear, Pincushions, and Poverty Weed. In folk medicine, this plant was used to make a tea for treating lung ailments, was boiled in milk to treat diarrhea and dysentery, and the chewed leaves were applied to bruises, sprains, and swellings.
